Brainwave bands (beat frequencies)

These are not tones you hear directly but beat or pulse rates. Play them as binaural beats or isochronic tones.

BandRangeLinked state
Delta0.5–4 HzDeep, dreamless sleep
Theta4–8 HzDrowsiness, light sleep, deep meditation
Alpha8–13 HzRelaxed wakefulness, eyes closed
Beta13–30 HzActive thinking and alertness
Gamma30–100 HzBinding information together

Chakra frequencies

The most common modern mapping. Traditional chakra systems don’t assign frequencies; these pairings began with 1990s solfeggio books.

Reading this chart honestly

Music therapy is a real clinical discipline, with trials showing music can lower perceived anxiety and pain (Cochrane reviews by Bradt and colleagues cover several settings). That evidence is about music and attention, not about particular numbers. Where a specific frequency has been studied, we say so in the Evidence column; "None published" means we found no peer-reviewed trial of that tone.

The practical upshot: pick a pitch you like, keep it quiet, and give it time. For sleep specifically, see the best frequency for sleep.

Questions people ask

What are healing frequencies?

A loose name for tones promoted for wellbeing: the solfeggio set (174–963 Hz), 432 Hz tuning, 40 Hz gamma stimulation and binaural beats in the brainwave bands. Their evidence ranges from early research (40 Hz) to none (most solfeggio claims).

What are the 7 healing frequencies?

Usually the seven tones mapped to the chakras: 396, 417, 528, 639, 741, 852 and 963 Hz. The mapping is a modern convention and varies between sources.

Which frequency is best for healing?

No sound frequency has been shown to heal illness. For relaxation, choose whichever tone or beat you find calming. See a clinician for anything medical.

Is frequency healing real?

Sound can relax you, mask noise and help you focus, and music therapy is an established clinical field. Claims that specific frequencies repair cells or cure disease are not supported.
